Outreach Tutors

Overview

Omega Tutoring are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils in Chatham and the surrounding areas.

• Work on a 1:1 basis with students aged between 5-16 years old.
• Most students are disengaged in education, often out of school, and may not be on a school roll.
• Sessions are held either at the student’s home or at the local library.
• Students may have difficulty responding to conventional teaching, behavioural or SEN difficulties and are likely to be below age‑related expectations.
• Typical workload is 3 hours per day, 5 days a week, with flexibility depending on the student; more hours may be available by taking on additional cases.
• Deliver sessions focused on English and Maths.

• QTS or QTLS is preferred but not essential; relevant experience required.
• Minimum of degree level.
• Experience working with students with SEN.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
• Positive attitude and desire.
• Ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.
• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the Online Update Service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child‑related references.
