About this Role

Join Forward2

Employment and help young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) take confident, supported steps into the world of work. We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Job Coach who is passionate about inclusion, independence and creating meaningful employment opportunities for young people.

Who this role would suit

This role would suit someone who is passionate about inclusion and committed to helping young adults with SEND build confidence, independence and skills for adulthood. It would particularly appeal to candidates who are patient, encouraging and calm under pressure, and who enjoy working closely with young people, employers and families to achieve meaningful outcomes.

You may already have experience in education, SEND, employability, coaching, youth work, care or mentoring, although just as importantly, you will bring warmth, resilience and a strong belief in what young people can achieve with the right support. If you are looking for a role that is practical, people-centred and genuinely rewarding, this could be an excellent next step.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in our highly successful Supported Internship Programme, working with young adults aged 16–25 and helping them develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to succeed in the workplace and beyond.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with interns, colleagues, employers and parents/carers. You will be patient, encouraging and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to helping young people thrive.

In this role, you will support interns in the workplace to develop the practical skills needed to perform their job safely, accurately and confidently. You will help them settle into new working environments, build confidence and independence, and, where appropriate, support travel training to strengthen essential life skills.

An important part of the role is also working alongside employers and colleagues to help them feel confident in supporting interns effectively in the workplace. We are looking for someone with the vision, energy and commitment to champion inclusive employment and enable young people to take important first steps towards greater independence.

We provide individualised induction and professional support, including access to further training and qualifications where appropriate. If you are looking for a role that is purposeful, people-centred and professionally rewarding, we would love to hear from you.
