Role Summary

Recruiting for and on behalf of Bradfields Academy, an “Outstanding” specialist academy in Medway, we are looking for enthusiastic and committed Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support students aged 4–19 across our academy communities.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support both in and out of the classroom.
  • Help students engage with learning, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.
  • Act as a positive role model and contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Maintain high expectations for every learner.
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs, gained in education, care, health, or other relevant settings.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Health and Social Care, or SEND-related certifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • For Primary Community: experience or knowledge of Early Years education is beneficial.
  • For Secondary Communities: skills or experience in arts, music, or science would be welcomed.
  • Desirable: previous experience supporting moderate to complex learning difficulties.
  • Knowledge of moving and handling practices.
  • Willingness to support students with personal care where required.
  • Demonstrated patience, resilience, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with additional needs.
