SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Hours:
Full time| Term-time only We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil who requires additional help with behaviour regulation and developing positive social interactions with peers. This rewarding role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to create a supportive, structured, and nurturing environment that enables the pupil to thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs Implement behaviour strategies and support emotional regulation Encourage and facilitate positive peer interactions and social development Adapt learning activities to ensure engagement and accessibility Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children with SEN, particularly behavioural and social needs Be patient, resilient, and empathetic Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills Be proactive in supporting inclusion and positive relationships Remain calm and consistent in challenging situations Important Information:
Due to the school's location in Chatham, access by public transport is limited. Applicants should ensure they have a reliable means of travel.
