Position: Housing Officer (Contract)
A 12‑month opportunity within our client’s Private Sector Housing team, supporting inspections, enforcement and housing adaptations.

Salary: £31,283 per annum

12‑Month Fixed Term Contract

Our client is seeking a Housing Officer on a 12‑month contract to help deliver essential services across Private Sector Housing. You’ll contribute to improving standards, providing technical advice and supporting residents through the adaptation and enforcement process.

What you’ll do

* Investigate complaints regarding poor housing conditions

* Conduct HHSRS inspections and hazard assessments

* Inspect HMOs and ensure compliance with licensing conditions

* Prepare correspondence, notices and schedules of work

* Use relevant legislation to address Category 1 and 2 hazards

* Provide advice on standards, property condition and available assistance

* Serve and monitor compliance with legal notices

* Prepare offence case reports where required

* Visit homes to support the adaptation journey

* Provide technical guidance on the feasibility of adaptations

* Support the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and adaptation funding

* Maintain strong links with housing teams and key stakeholders

* Advise on adaptation options, alternative accommodation and funding schemes
