About Us
PILLAR (Pathways to Independent Living, Learning, and Resilience) is a specialist supported living service designed to empower young people aged 16+ on their journey to independent living. Through our structured and supportive approach, we provide a safe, caring environment where young people can develop essential life skills and work toward their goals.
The Role
As a Support Worker at PILLAR, you will work directly with young people to support their journey to independence. You will provide practical and emotional support, helping them develop essential life skills, pursue educational and employment opportunities, and build confidence for the future. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to making a positive impact.
What You will Do
* Support young people in building life skills like budgeting, cooking, and personal care.
* Provide guidance on education and career pathways, including CV writing and interview preparation.
* Foster emotional wellbeing through mindfulness, self-care, and resilience workshops.
* Collaborate with external partners, including schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
* Uphold safeguarding standards and create a safe, supportive environment.
About You
* Experience in youth work, social care, or a related field (qualifications in Health & Social Care or Social Work preferred), or the willingness to work towards this.
* Effective communication and empathy skills, with a commitment to empowering young people.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to the varied needs of each young person.
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to maintaining safety.
