Position Overview

We are recruiting for a Maternity Support Worker who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
As a member of the maternity services under the supervision of registered midwives and nurses, you will deliver excellence in an array of Clinical and Caring duties throughout the maternity services to all birthing people and their families who access the service. You will help ensure the safety and wellbeing of service users, always working in a manner that promotes dignity, equality, and diversity, through the adoption of person‑centred care principles.
The Maternity Support Worker will undertake a range of duties including personal care, providing information and advice, health promotion, clerical, educational and housekeeping duties.

- Work collaboratively with nurses, midwives, multi‑professional teams, service users and their families to provide excellent care.
- Independently plan tasks and workload activities whilst ensuring that practice is guided by standard operating procedures and established protocols.
- Prioritise workload and be responsible for planned care and tasks delegated from a registered practitioner.
- Accountable to the Midwife or Nurse, maintaining dignity of patients and relatives, respecting their individual needs and wishes, while always maintaining a professional and presentable image.
