Job Introduction

The World Health Organisation life course approach focuses on reducing risks and strengthening protective factors through evidence-based support at key life stages. Within the Healthy Families workstream, this guides our work from pregnancy through early childhood the first 1,001 days. This role supports the development, delivery, and evaluation of evidence-based projects that improve the wellbeing of Medway residents, meet local and national targets, and reduce health inequalities.

Key projects include Bump Club Medway, Bump Club Walks, Beyond Bump Club, and Smokefree Families, all aimed at improving outcomes for pregnant and postnatal people and their families. The role involves providing expert advice to service users, drawing on knowledge of behaviour change, nutrition, physical activity, and smoking cessation. The successful candidate will be skilled in building partnerships to plan and monitor projects that improve service awareness, access, and uptake.

They will also deliver formal presentations and training to a range of clinical and non-clinical audiences, including health professionals, Local Authority teams, senior managers, and other stakeholders. The successful post holder will be subject to a Enhanced Adults DBS check.
