The Community Interpreting Service (CIS) is an internal council department that provides solutions to the linguistic needs of public services and their clients, a reliable, confidential and impartial service with trained and accredited interpreters and translators in more than 60 languages, including British Sign Language.

• Provide interpreting and translation services to public services in Medway and across Kent via face‑to‑face meetings, or remotely via phone or video link.
• Support clients whose first language is not English.

• Minimum Community Interpreting Level 3.
• Must be able to demonstrate all criteria at level A which are essential for appointment.
• Subject to a Standard DBS check.
