Job Overview

Employment Adviser at Reed in Partnership supports long‑term unemployed jobseekers, manages a caseload, and promotes the Restart Scheme.

Pay Range: £29,000 – £31,500.

Key Responsibilities
  • Taking Ownership:
    Meet with and support a caseload of long‑term unemployed participants, identify barriers and create tailored action plans to promote employment.
  • Deliver personalised, one‑to‑one guidance, including CV writing, interview preparation and skills development.
  • Meet and exceed performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Working Together:
    Collaborate with participants to build confidence, engage local employers to identify opportunities and signpost participants to internal and external stakeholders for barriers such as health, housing or finance.
  • Promote the Restart Scheme within the community, raising awareness of its benefits and impact.
  • Being Fair, Open and Honest:
    Provide inclusive support and advice to people from all backgrounds.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring experience and persuasive influencing skills.
  • Experience in a customer‑facing environment (customer services, hospitality, social care, sales).
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, performance‑target‑driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel locally to meet customers and employers.
  • Minimum of two A‑Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma, plus GCSE English Language Grade B (or equivalent). Alternatively, Level 2 Literacy Assessment or international equivalents.
Desirable Criteria
  • Fluency in more than one language.
