Right now, we are looking for a Waking Night Recovery Worker to play a pivotal role in our Crisis Accommodation service in Medway, Kent

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As Waking Night Recovery Worker you will be ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of our building and service users throughout the night. In this rewarding role, you will provide person-centred support to individuals with complex needs, including mental health challenges and substance misuse, helping them achieve positive outcomes and maintain their independence. Responsibilities include co-producing risk assessments, support plans, and crisis interventions, responding appropriately to incidents and mental health relapses, carrying out welfare and flat checks, and supporting service users with their health, wellbeing, and safety goals.

You will also be responsible for maintaining the security of the building through regular patrols, health and safety inspections, CCTV and alarm monitoring, as well as undertaking housing management and caretaking duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, proactive, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable people.

We

are seeking a resilient, empathetic, and highly motivated individual with demonstrable experience supporting people with mental health needs and complex support requirements. Experience working with individuals affected by substance misuse is desirable, alongside a strong understanding of recovery-focused practice, co-production, and the challenges faced by vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be confident in engaging service users in assessments, developing and reviewing support and safety plans, and delivering activities that promote confidence, independence, wellbeing, and self-defined recovery.

You will have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks, including welfare reform, the Care Act, and housing pathways, together with the ability to remain calm and maintain high standards in challenging and unpredictable situations. Strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and case management systems, are essential, as is an understanding of basic building maintenance and safety issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, accurate record keeping, and the ability to handle financial transactions responsibly are required. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and bank holidays is essential, along with a commitment to delivering outstanding support and safeguarding the wellbeing of our service users.
