We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our onsite Property Management team. At SVN | Second Story, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This onsite Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of a 480 unit HOA/Multifamily community. This individual will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with HOA policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Property Management Accounting, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Reports to: Onsite Property Manager, assisted by Corporate Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for assigned properties.
  • Homeowner Communication:
    Assist homeowners with questions and concerns regarding the financial statements.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable:
    Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Reconciliations:
    Conduct bank account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records and identify discrepancies.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:
    Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions accurately.
  • Budgeting:
    Assist in the preparation of property budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances, and providing insights to management.
  • Audit Support:
    Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Property Management Software:
    Utilize property management software to maintain accurate financial data and generate reports as needed.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with the property management team to support financial decision-making and provide insights on financial performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Stay updated on accounting regulations and standards relevant to property management and ensure compliance.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
  • Required:

    CPA licensure
  • Skills:

    Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, homeowners and Board members.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Strong critical thinking skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Compensation Details
  • Full-time, salary position
  • Full-time health benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA plan, additional optional coverages
