Bookkeeper Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support accounting operations for an organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activity, maintain accurate records, and produce reliable reporting with minimal supervision. The right candidate will bring strong Quick Books expertise, solid knowledge of both accrual and cash basis accounting, and the ability to stay organized while balancing shifting priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions and maintaining complete, accurate accounting records.
• Process vendor invoices and payments, while monitoring accounts payable activity to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
• Oversee customer billing and collections, keeping accounts receivable balances current and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts regularly to support accuracy across the general ledger.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules, delivering clear and timely information for business review.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks, ensuring records are organized and transactions are properly reflected.
• Use Quick Books and Microsoft Excel to track data, analyze account activity, and support routine accounting workflows.
• Contribute to payroll-related support functions when needed, helping maintain accurate financial processing and documentation.
