Dillard Construction, Inc. offers a unique opportunity to join an established, well-regarded commercial contractor in Chattanooga, TN. The Commercial Construction Estimator role offers a collaborative opportunity in partnership with the team to provide outstanding service to clients within the industrial (pre-engineered metal buildings) and commercial (banks, quick service restaurants, convenience stores, office buildings, airport, airport hangars, schools, institutional, etc.) construction space.
Most projects are in the greater Chattanooga area offering the unique opportunity to experience such a role with limited travel.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates based on project plans and specifications.
- Work with prospective clients to develop preliminary or conceptual estimates.
- Procure and evaluate bids and proposals from subcontractors and vendors.
- Develop final client proposal or bid documents.
- Perform take-offs as needed to verify accuracy of cost estimate.
- Ability and willingness to learn new programs and skills, as required for the execution of assigned duties.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Successfully perform any other tasks assigned by management.
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
- Familiarity with construction practices and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors and vendors.
- Candidate should be proficient in daily use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Adobe.
- Experience with Procore is preferred.
- Experience with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings is preferred.
- Experience with digital take-off is preferred.
Work is predominantly performed in a quiet to moderately loud office environment. Required to remain in stationary position 75% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office and outside on property, constantly operate computer and other office productivity machinery such as copier and position self to maintain files in cabinets and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; ability to accurately communicate information and ideas so that others will understand;
observe details at close range.
