Position OverviewAs a Construction Management Specialist, you will work closely with all project team members and oversee contractor and subcontractor trade employees. You must be highly organized, communicate effectively, work well within teams, and help ensure timely completion of projects in fast‑paced environments. The role involves traveling with project work across multiple sites, typically 3–9 month assignments, and occasional additional travel to support other projects.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Develop project‑specific construction and commissioning work plans.
- Perform home office or remote pre‑construction planning before field mobilization.
- Lead and manage the site construction and commissioning staff.
- Monitor overall progress, cost, quality, scope, and safety.
- Manage and mitigate construction and commissioning risks.
- Report construction progress and cost to the Project Manager or owner.
- Lead and attend performance review meetings.
- Plan construction process by developing schedules, phasing, and look‑aheads.
- Track project progress and maintain schedules.
- Ensure the site remains safe, clean, and orderly.
- Communicate field conflicts and notify internal project team.
- Keep all documentation up‑to‑date for internal and external members.
- Collaborate with internal team, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs.
- Monitor and report on project progress.
- Adhere to budget and ensure profitability.
- Supervise field staff and provide constructive feedback.
- Coordinate staffing requests.
- Resolve on‑site issues and emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.

Essential Skills and Experience- 7–12 years of relevant construction management experience, directly related to T&D transmission, substation construction, or industrial construction management.
- Experience determining staff positions and size; interviewing and selection of personnel.
- Construction labor knowledge and labor planning experience.
- Experience establishing and effectively using project controls tools to manage a large construction project.
- Understanding of a process approach to accomplishing construction management and start‑up testing work.
- Demonstrated client relationship‑building experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others in potentially adversarial situations.
- Successful and proven experience as an Industrial Construction Site Manager.
- Industrial Field Experience, Trade School Graduate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management/Engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and health guidelines for sizeable industrial construction job sites.
- In‑depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
- Understanding the importance of proper phase codes and assigning time.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to lead and inspire.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
