Orchard Knob Middle School is a 6-8 school located in Chattanooga, TN. We are committed to fostering academic achievement, personal growth, and community involvement. OKMS focuses on college and career readiness. Students enjoy college visits each semester in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. We offer extracurricular clubs aligned with Future Ready Institutes:

• Teach and learn using the Tennessee Social Studies Standards; create rigorous, aligned assessments; implement high-leverage literacy practices.
• Follow the Hamilton County Schools instructional framework: equity, high expectations, productive classroom culture, responsive teaching.
• Build a safe, productive classroom culture and foster growth mindset through positive relationships.
• Develop strong relationships with families and keep parents informed of expectations, achievements, and concerns; involve parents in learning.
• Participate actively in professional learning communities (PLCs); reflect on instruction and leadership; contribute ideas and expertise to school goals.

• Teaching candidates must hold a valid Tennessee teaching certification in Social Studies 6‑12; or be an upcoming graduate in an accredited teacher preparation program. If holding a license in another state, must apply for a Tennessee teaching license.
• Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree.
