East Side Elementary is a K-5 school located in Chattanooga, TN. We are a diverse school community, with 75% of our students being speakers of other languages. We are proud of our students and the academic growth they continue to show. We have high student attendance and few disciplinary issues.

At East Side, we provide the following for our teachers: professional development opportunities, technology resources for students and teachers, a professional learning community, and vertical planning sessions.

We are looking for teachers who have a growth mindset and are willing to work to support the whole child through both trauma-informed and restorative practices. In addition, teachers must be collaborative, self-starters, risk-takers, caring and nurturing. Our school motto is 'We ARE the village' and we absolutely believe in doing whatever it takes to support our students, families, and each other to get the job done.

• Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
• Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
• Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff
• Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families

• Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
• Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program

Compensation & Additional Info:

• Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
• Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
