This position provides an opportunity to teach in a live industry work setting, including access to industrial equipment and firsthand insight into industry needs.

The Volkswagen Academy campus provides a unique work environment that prepares students for a manufacturing career by developing both technical and professional skills. Our instructors lead by example in terms of expertise, professionalism, and a passion for learning.

This position provides course and lab instruction in the area of Basic Automotive Fundamentals, Electric Vehicle Fundamentals, and Electric Vehicle Maintenance. Understanding of Electric Vehicles and intrinsic motivation to stay up to date with technology developments a must. Systems integration of Industry 4.0 a plus. Course and curriculum development, evaluation of students, maintenance of attendance and grade records, and maintenance of 5S practices in all work, instructional and lab areas.

Independent learning skills and the ability to manage a classroom are necessary.

• Provide counseling resources as needed.

• Develop, adapt, and improve programs and services in response to the needs of changing environments, populations served, and evolving institutional priorities.
• Provide educational opportunities and experiences to students in leadership, social responsibility, intercultural understanding, and global citizenship.
• Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged learning experience to students.
• Ensure that each student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within a student’s program of study
• Ensure that instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, are properly maintained and are in working order prior to class time
