Responsibilities- Utilize and expand your design skills in a multi‑disciplined team environment with Electrical and Structural designers and engineers.
- Apply computer-aided drafting/design skills and receive hands‑on training in 3D design software such as AutoCAD 3D and/or Micro Station.
- Develop transmission line plans, profile drawings, hardware details, material lists, and grounding details.
- Create master sketches to scale showing the relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
- Confer directly with engineering staff to interpret inputs from engineering specifications, weight and volume calculations, and stress factors.
- Accompany and assist project team members on walk‑downs at client facilities to gather information for your design project.
- Interface with vendors and construction contractors and explain drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made.
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in‑office work 3 days per week.
Essential Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 1+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- 3+ years of experience in design/drafting of Transmission Lines.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design.
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
- Ability to multi‑task across projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience with Micro Station, PLS‑CADD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or GIS software.
