Job DescriptionCMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with three or more years of experience in Consulting Engineering. The candidate must have a strong and innovative technical background in Electrical Engineering. The role involves designing the electrical aspects of energy‑efficient buildings for various clients and complex infrastructure projects. The position will work with a team of engineers and other consultants to deliver high‑quality work on small and large projects.
It is an onsite position located at our Chattanooga office.
- Design electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low‑voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control).
- Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Confer with other engineers and personnel to meet project deadlines.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles, research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
- Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
- Research and analyze client design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
- 3+ years of experience with MEP design.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- FE registration is preferred with potential for PE registration.
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD.
- Electrical Engineering Infrastructure Design.
- Construction Administration and Submittals.
