Job Description Principal Cellulose Technology Engineer – Chattanooga, TN Job Summary

Job Responsibilities- Comply fully with local and ADM’s safety regulations/standards and promote safety culture. Drive continuous process safety improvement.
- Support Product and Process Development work collaboratively with R&D and Operations.
- Support Operations run planning and execution for process and quality targets
- Develop, Implement and Support Statistical Process Control methodologies
- Assist local Operation Leadership in the capital budgeting and execution process to ensure requirements and guidelines for Divisional and Central Projects are achieved
- Manage capital spending to annual budget targets and reporting spending performance and forecast to ensure utilization of allocated funds. Work with the manufacturing representatives to ensure on scope, on-time, on budget execution of projects
- Drive Operational Excellence and process optimization ideas. Initiation, development and execution of process improvements and approved capital projects in close cooperation with process engineers.
- Manage the project portfolio in cooperation with the local Plant Manager and the Regional Director Oilseeds Technology.
- Manage capital spending to annual budget targets and reporting spending performance and forecast to ensure utilization of allocated funds. Work with the manufacturing representatives to ensure on scope, on-time, on budget execution of projects.
- Develop 5-year capital project portfolio to ensure improved productivity of the facility. Ensure that the proper projects are identified and in-line with long term business objectives. Assist Operation Leadership in the evaluations and prioritization of capital projects.
- Remains current with new process technology developments and equipment suppliers
- Training and development of process engineers
- Assists in troubleshooting when the location is not able to solve
- Bachelor’s or Master degree in the fields of chemistry, food processing, production manufacturing, engineering, technology, or other related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in cellulose and related production processes. Preferably as superintendent or project engineer.
- 5-10 year of experience in safety, health, environment and quality, production/processes, and project management.
- P&L responsibility/cost management experience
- Senior leadership interaction
- Operation excellence/continuous improvement
- Project management
- Compliance and safety experience
