Drafter/Electrical Drafter/Engineering Technician (Auto desk/AutoCAD/Experience working on electrical projects)

$28.00/hr - $32.00/hr

• Under general supervision, supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require an intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Utilize digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• May provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering technicians.
• Perform technical tasks related to electrical projects, requiring 2‑3 years of drafting experience in this domain.
• Develop and maintain schematics, wiring, and site layouts; substation experience is desirable.
• Use Autodesk AutoCAD (2‑3 years experience);
  Micro Station experience is a plus.
• Operate from the Chattanooga office, commuting within a reasonable distance.
• Continuously learn and stay current on industry standards, document control, and departmental policies.
• Apply the Quality Program to ensure deliverable accuracy and compliance.
• Support continuous improvement and change‑management efforts with accurate documentation.
• Evaluate and improve processes and procedures used to accomplish deliverables.
• Create and develop deliverables based on various design inputs.
• Perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
• Coordinate deliverables with other groups to minimize errors and interference.
• Focus on internal client needs while understanding external client drivers.
• Proactively seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes.

• 2‑3 years drafting experience on electrical projects.
• Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD; experience with Micro Station is a plus.
• Familiarity with substation schematics, wiring, and site layouts.
• Strong understanding of CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in a contract environment.
• Must be in a commutable distance to Chattanooga office.
