Job DescriptionA Cisco Network Engineer supporting Catalyst 9300 and 4500 switches responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and scalable network infrastructure using these specific platforms. The role requires a deep understanding of networking principles, problem‑solving skills, and often a relevant certification like CCNP.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco Catalyst 9300 and 4500 series switches, along with other network equipment (routers, firewalls, etc.), ensuring all devices adhere to industry best practices and security standards.
- Monitor network performance using tools such as Cisco DNA Center or Solar Winds, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks, packet loss, and connectivity issues to ensure maximum network uptime and reliability.
- Provide expert‑level troubleshooting support for complex network incidents, performing root cause analysis, and resolving issues swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement new network solutions and upgrades, ensuring scalability and alignment with business objectives.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including access control lists (ACLs), VLANs, VPNs, and potentially integrating with firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and network diagrams to facilitate knowledge sharing and disaster recovery efforts.

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of handling high‑pressure situations and complex network issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Chattanooga, TN. Fully onsite.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
