Transportation Engineer

Overview

Insight Global is partnering with a local municipality to hire a City Transportation Engineer for its Public Works team. This leadership role serves as the Chief Engineer for the Transportation Division, overseeing all transportation design and engineering functions. Key responsibilities include managing transportation studies and capital projects, supervising staff, developing budgets, and reviewing internal and contractor designs. The person also leads asset management for critical infrastructure such as bridges, pavement, sidewalks, and tunnels, and plays a key role in shaping Chattanoogas future through Smart City initiatives.

• Manage transportation studies and capital projects.
• Supervise staff within the Transportation Division.
• Develop budgets and review internal and contractor designs.
• Lead asset management for bridges, pavement, sidewalks, tunnels, and other critical infrastructure.
• Contribute to Smart City initiatives and future mobility solutions for Chattanooga.

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Ten years related design engineering experience, including supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Professional Engineer License required or must obtain within six months of hire; PE license must be issued in the State of Tennessee.
• LEED-ND, Green Associate and/or CNU-A certifications preferred.
