Position Summary

The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in project scoping, planning, scheduling, and cost management; earned value management; change control; problem identification and resolution support. Good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and monitor project cost performance.
  • Develop monthly project budgets and analyze costs for risks and opportunities.
  • Review project status by analyzing actual progress and costs versus the plan.
  • Prepare and analyze accruals.
  • Prepare status reports and provide detailed analysis using earned value management techniques.
  • Conduct change control following established procedures.
  • Prepare work orders for project team members.
  • Assist with project creation, funding requests, and closeout processes.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor schedule performance.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on work status and process change requests impacting project timelines or budgets.
  • Prepare reports to monitor project progress and identify issues.
  • Document progress, forecast impacts, and communicate updates to the team.
  • Interface with engineering, construction, procurement, operations, and management teams.
  • Travel to project sites as needed for reviews.
  • Job Knowledge:



    Education:

    Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, financial/business, or related field plus relevant project control experience. PMP or AACE certification is preferred.



    Experience:

    Proven application of project control practices, including cost engineering, scheduling (Primavera P6), and proficiency with PC software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Knowledge of risk management tools and business planning processes is desirable.

    This position requires a REAL
