Field Technician

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Field Technician for a dynamic and rapidly growing Wireless Network Solutions organization. This position is a full-time, 3 year contract onsite in Chattanooga, TN.

This role provides hands‑on support for onsite infrastructure across enterprise environments, primarily within MDF/IDF spaces. The Field Technician will perform physical installations, equipment setup, cable work, and smart‑hands support while collaborating with remote technical teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys independent, hands‑on technical work in structured environments with consistent daily tasks.

• Install, rack, and stack hardware such as servers, switches, and related equipment.
• Perform smart‑hands support including equipment swaps, power cycles, basic troubleshooting, and cable tracing.
• Execute MDF/IDF room work including labeling, port mapping, cleanup, and organization.
• Complete structured cabling tasks including CAT6 and fiber patching and cable management.
• Perform test and turn‑up activities for new installations.
• Partner with remote engineers for escalations, instructions, and documentation needs.
• Maintain onsite reliability while moving between client locations as needed.

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in field service, infrastructure support, or similar technical roles.
• Strong knowledge with MDF/IDF environments and structured cabling.
• Experience installing physical IT hardware and performing cable work.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with remote teams.
• Reliable transportation for occasional local travel between client sites may be required.
• Cabling or low‑voltage background, certifications (CompTIA, BICSI), and/or light data center experience are helpful.
