Role Summary
Works with supervisor to help manage and oversee team members to accomplish daily safety, quality and manufacturing goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the development of work instructions, training on processes, and helps supervise daily operations.
- Be prepared to step into supervisor’s position in cases of sickness and vacations.
- Responsible for assisting with tool room software and documentation, including but not limited to approving Nova Time, SAP, and Captor.
- Provide detailed reports for die tryout, crashes, and split investigation.
- Perform daily safety inspections as well as daily rotating process audits.
- Read and interpret CAD data, blueprints to customer specs.
- Apply and utilize manufacturing best practices for efficiency, quality, safety, and capability.
- Complete miscellaneous duties and projects, written and verbal, as directed by your supervisor/manager.
- Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate including but not limited to die setting as required.
Knowledge and Education
- USDOL Certificate of Completion Tool & Die Maker or 2:1 experience to 4-year apprenticeship program.
- Proof of 6 years related experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Production Stamping Plant.
- Experience with medium to large Tandem Line Dies, small to medium Transfer Dies, or medium to large Progressive Dies; experience with Transfer Dies & large Progressive Dies is a plus.
- Experience with implementation of Engineering Changes required.
- Willingness to work overtime as required (including Sundays) to maintain all Plant functions related to the Tool Room such as Program Launch, die repairs, engineering change timing to customer dates/requirements.

- Must be a team-oriented player and work well with others.
- Ability to prioritize in a high-stress environment.
- Good working relationship and effective communication skills with vendors, team members, and suppliers.
- Knowledge and understanding of tool room processes and procedures, including Die Standard Practice for die repair.
- Own basic set of precision/hand tools.
- Willing to work any shift as Plant schedule and/or manpower requirements deem necessary.
- Willing to work overtime as required (including Sundays).
Additional Information
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Exposed to weather conditions and moderate noise level.
