The Cardiac Services Data and Quality Coordinator works closely with the Director of Cardiovascular Services and Medical Directors of Cardiovascular Services to coordinate and conduct data collection and submission, process and outcome measurement and reporting, and performance improvement activities related to the cardiovascular disease/procedure population. The Cardiac Services Data and Quality Coordinator organizes and facilitates cardiovascular medical staff quality activities, assists with cardiovascular service line initiatives, and functions as communicator and community advocate.

This position also helps to ensure the consistent utilization of evidenced‑based best practices and manages the national cardiac database registries in partnership with Parallon.

• Demonstrate the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation checklist(s) and ensures staff maintain competency in the required skills.
• Demonstrate age specific knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients.
• Ensure the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Utilize nursing process for individual care to meet needs of patients.
• Demonstrate and teach the performance of technical skills and procedures.
• Demonstrate and teach critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrate and teach customer service initiatives.
• Promote and exhibit teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies/procedures and patient and staff safety initiatives.
• Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing the EMR for data entry and abstraction for analytics.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Cardiovascular Information Systems.
• Ensure accurate and timely abstraction and submission of National Registry Data.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
