American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment in Chattanooga, TN requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience.

• 30-bed Med/Surg unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Unit supported by Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretary, PCTs, and Case Management staff
• Uses equipment including walkers, IV pumps, and SCDs
• Documentation via Meditech
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule
• Falls into holiday rotation
• Floating required as part of staff rotation

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with respiratory, renal, and GI diseases/illnesses preferred
• Experience with telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters, and heparin drips preferred
• Strong teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit with a diverse case mix
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Unit emphasizes patient experience through use of communication boards
• First-time travelers may be considered
