We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency & Critical Care Department for a Weekend Day Shift schedule.
ScheduleFriday - Sunday | 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

This role is ideal for veterinary professionals who enjoy emergency medicine, hands‑on patient care, and the opportunity to work closely with a highly experienced emergency and specialty team.
Key Responsibilities- Support veterinarians and credentialed technicians in delivering high‑quality emergency and critical care
- Provide exceptional client service through clear communication, education, and compassion
- Perform diagnostic procedures including radiographs, urinalysis, bloodwork, fecals, and cytology
- Administer medications via IV, SQ, IM, and PO routes
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters
- Assist with sedated or anesthetized procedures, including wound and laceration repair
- Monitor and support hospitalized patients, ensuring comfort and safety
- Accurately dispense medications as directed
- Maintain clean, organized, and well‑stocked treatment and exam areas
- Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience required
- Emergency or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Tennessee preferred but not required for assistants
- Strong technical, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and client‑service skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, emotional resilience, and a passion for emergency medicine
- Desire to learn, grow, and be part of a collaborative team
