Quality Manager
The Walsh Group – Walsh Construction & Archer Western is seeking a Quality Manager located in Cartersville, GA.
OverviewThe role is responsible for implementing, improving and executing the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and project‑specific quality program requirements. The Quality Manager ensures design and construction works are planned and executed in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems and requirements of the company and contract.

Responsibilities- Serve as the quality champion for one or multiple projects, responsible for quality of work, material management, documentation and close‑out to ensure safe, efficient, effective, and profitable project execution.
- Coach, mentor and train the entire project staff in quality management principles, procedures and project‑specific requirements.
- Lead and manage quality processes such as work planning, pre‑activity meetings, material management, quality incident reports, lessons learned and follow‑up inspections.
- Establish, monitor and report on KPIs and QIRs for project teams to ensure continuous improvement; analyze KPIs, evaluate trends and provide improvement strategies.
- Conduct regular audits of project quality programs using tools such as Project QC Evaluation; provide feedback on major QIRs and overall quality management recurring non‑conformances.
- Direct inspection, testing and documentation of works; schedule inspections and testing in coordination with operations, consultants, laboratories and client.
- Create and implement project‑specific inspection and test plans, quality control plans and other necessary procedures.
- Support material specification reviews including concrete mix design, thermal control and other quality‑specialized elements.
- Develop and execute risk‑management strategy that improves profitability by reducing risk and enhancing process efficiency.
- Maintain relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, design partners and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution.
- Support site safety to ensure projects meet safety procedures, requirements and goals.
- Monitor project quality costs and rework costs via QIR system; provide feedback to optimize billing, risk reporting and testing accuracy to protect the company from claim exposure.
- AEC bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience; current certification required (e.g., International Code Council, NICET).
- Knowledge of standards, specifications and publications related to construction quality.
- Certification in construction quality management (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, NRC) preferred but not required.
- Industry certifications for testing and inspection to validate procedures.
- Minimum seven years of AEC experience, with at least three years in a quality role.
- Good communication, critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Limited travel for projects as necessary;
Level 1 QCM experience desired.
