Responsibilities

TEAM MEMBER GENERAL

SUMMARY:

The Team Member is the primary point of contact for customers, stocking and merchandising displays, recovering merchandise, delivering product knowledge, cleaning the store, operating the cash register(s), and performing additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

  • Deliver superior customer service to exceed expectations.
  • Utilize sales techniques and product knowledge to enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized store environment that delights customers.
  • Assist in merchandising the store in a manner that is appealing and retains customer excitement.
  • Rotate product to create eye‑catching displays that drive sales.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities to provide a superior shopping experience.
  • Reset displayed merchandise and conduct daily recovery to maintain a clutter‑free environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual and Employee Handbook.
  • Operate cash register(s) and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payments, make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers.
  • Assist customers with self‑checkout processes at multiple register terminals simultaneously.
  • Unload merchandise and rotate it on shelves and in displays.
  • Clean the store, including trash removal, dusting, mopping, and restroom upkeep.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE and

SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Perform cash register functions.
  • Stock and display merchandise.

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS and

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Handle merchandise and equipment such as scanners, pricing guns, and dollies.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds routinely; occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Occasional ladder climbing.
  • Fast‑paced environment with moderate noise level.
  • Exposure to strong scents, outdoor weather, wet floor surfaces, and cleaning solutions.
