Showroom Sales Specialist (Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, 37416)

Saturdays and evenings are required for this role. You will provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow‑up to enhance the customer experience and influence sales decisions.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide interior design advice and product expertise, facilitate tile and stone selection, and support project development to ensure completion of sale for all customers.
- Log all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed preference notes in CMT; communicate with customers and internal team members to track leads and close sales; report sales closures monthly.
- Prospect for new business with an emphasis on custom builders and residential designers; make outside sales calls as needed and follow up on leads to grow and drive business.
- Maintain showroom samples and merchandising, order and receive models and displays, and ship customer examples to drive sales; maintain contact with suppliers and keep current on design and product offerings.
- Plan and host showroom tours and events for industry trade; attend outside trade events to build brand awareness.
- Evening and weekend hours are required.
- A four‑year degree in a related field, four years of related experience, or a combination of a two‑year degree with two years of related experience.
- Competencies in sales, customer engagement, and customer service; design, sketching, reading blueprints, Auto‑CAD a plus; color coordination and interior design trends.
- Ability to conceptualize innovative solutions and document and sell them to clients.
- Computer skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); customer‑management tools a plus.
- Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills to build positive relationships with customers and internal partners.
- Regular duties require standing, using hands, and reaching with hands and arms; walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may occur.
- May need to sit, climb, or balance; lift and move up to 80 pounds.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles may occur.
- Exposure to a wide range of temperatures and a loud noise level is usual.
