Job Overview
  • Primary focus on safe work environment and employing safe work practices on a consistent basis.
  • Use of judgement to plan, perform and make decisions as the sequence of set‑ups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
  • Responsibility to prevent damage due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials.
  • Working in a diverse team environment.
  • Assists Service Manager in collecting job charges and materials used by the team and submit for billing in a timely manner to ensure accurate billing for the service team.
  • Ability to program PLCs and other various hardware.
  • Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, schematics, specifications, charts, and tables.
  • Technical process writing.
  • Complex mechanical work including general maintenance, preventative maintenance and component replacements, complete machine teardowns and reassembly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test electrical equipment and components and systems up to 600 volts.
  • Flexibility with travel based on needs and overall company objectives. (up to 50%)
  • Self‑motivated with little direct supervision

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Candidate must possess a strong commitment to safety of self and others.
  • Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps and failure analysis.
  • Determine corrective action through the inspection of failed parts.
  • Determine reuse or replacement of parts through visual inspection and measurement.
  • Repairs or replaces machine components.
  • Installs components and parts in machinery.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts/operates machinery to test performance.
  • Perform work in a variety of environments including the field, customer job sites, and the shop.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Complete service reports and timecards timely and accurately.
  • Maintain company, vendor and product confidentiality.
Qualifications/Requirements General

Skills and Qualifications Required
  • Must demonstrate troubleshooting and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Respond to all customer requests courteously, professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, climbing ladders and stairs, reaching, pulling, leaning, and twisting.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to work well independently or with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure, within deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must be reliable, honest and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers and co‑workers.
  • Ability to perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Candidate must be willing to learn new tasks and have pride in the quality of their work.
  • Routine overtime is involved.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred 2 or 4 year technical degree as it relates to the heavy equipment industry.
