Engineering Technician; Civil at USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service

This position will provide engineering assistance to landowners, groups, and local government to maintain a variety of conservation projects in the Chehalis, WA area.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Making site evaluations to assess the need for engineering measures and making or recommending preliminary alternatives or improvements.
• Inspecting work under construction and maintaining construction inspection records according to agency policy.
• Determining the type, scope, and intensity of field investigations and surveys based on field evaluations.
• Performing design computations and calculating estimates for quantities and costs.
• Collecting field data, processing and plotting data related to engineering practices, and ensuring that procedures and products conform to current service policy and standards.
