Field Shop Equipment/Truck Mechanic (National Frozen Foods) - Chehalis, WA

National Frozen Foods Corporation in Chehalis, Washington seeks a qualified field shop equipment/truck mechanic to support our fleet. All interested parties need to submit a resume.

Pay range: $27.90/hr – $31.05/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).

Position

Description:

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Class 8 Trucks, Semi‑Trailers, Tractors, and Irrigation Equipment. May work at multiple Chehalis locations.

• Maintain and repair trucks and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning equipment; estimate repair time and perform repairs.
• Perform welding on equipment as needed.
• Use basic electrical knowledge for 12‑volt systems to troubleshoot and repair.
• Work on hydraulics for equipment.
• Use hand tools and power tools to adjust equipment.
• Communicate effectively and work with multiple departments across multiple facilities.
• Maintain a high level of organization.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work shift hours.

• GED or high school diploma.
• Current Washington Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• 2 years' experience as a mechanic or a 2‑year formal degree in maintenance mechanics.
• Knowledge of air brake systems, suspension systems, servicing and adjusting brakes, axle bearings and seals.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Works independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail, flexibility, and emphasis on efficiency.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attendance record.
• Class A endorsement and Medical Card preferred.
• Current flaggers card preferred.

• Lift up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting or carrying.
• Stand and walk a maximum of 3 hours before each break.
• Climb or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding as needed.
• Reach with both hands and arms in any direction.
• Seize, hold, grasp, and turn objects.
• Use vision to observe shape, size, distance, motion, color.
• Twist and turn trunk of body from side to side.
• Bend forward and downward by bending the spine at the waist.
• Bend knees to kneel or rest on knees.
• Bend downward and forward, bending the spine and legs to crouch.
