Job Summary:
As a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, Mohawk Industries offers a chance to enhance workplace safety and product/service quality standards. The Safety & Quality Coordinator ensures consistent compliance and continuous improvement across safety programs, quality control processes, and regulatory adherence.
- Develop and implement workplace safety policies, conduct proactive safety audits, hazard assessments.
- Implement FNA and divisional safety programs at the plant level and maintain records of site training.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, completing root cause investigations and recommending corrective measures.
- Maintain records of safety-related activities (training, incident reports, inspections).
- Schedule and conduct annual safety training (LTO, LOTO, harness).
- Lead Safety Committee meetings; facilitate Employee Engagement Initiatives.
- Interpret OSHA regulations and assist management and Safety Specialists in applying them.
- Manage action item list for all safety-related items.
- Support development and implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to ensure product and process quality.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Track, analyze, and report quality metrics, identifying trends for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with customer and industry-specific standards.
- Partner with HR to enhance new hire retention, educate employees on policies, procedures, culture, and key relationships; ensure MPACT program operates smoothly.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- 2+ years manufacturing environment experience.
- Previous experience in a Safety role (preferred).
- Willingness to learn on the job and grow career.
- Collaborative team member in fast-paced environment with strong organization and professionalism.
- Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data-driven reporting and analytics.
- Problem solving in variable, low-standardization settings.
- Uses emotional intelligence to facilitate conversations and resolve safety matters.
- Expect occasional travel for training and support at other plants.
- Primarily in-office but supports flexible work arrangements.
