A well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant looking to work with a varied client portfolio, lead audit assignments and play a key role within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
The Role
As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, while also supporting clients with statutory accounts preparation and financial reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients
- Planning, conducting and completing audits to a high standard
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for Limited Companies, Partnerships and Sole Traders
- Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports
- Liaising directly with clients and acting as a key point of contact
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and advice to clients
- Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance work
- Ensuring assignments are delivered on time and within budget
- Supporting managers and partners with ad hoc projects
About You
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice is essential
- Strong audit and accounts preparation experience
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Experience leading audits and managing client relationships
- Knowledge of accounting software such as CCH, IRIS, Xero, Sage or Quick Books
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
