Front Desk and Office Coordinator

Salary: £15,351.20 per annum (based on full time equivalent £26,824.60)

Chelmsford

20 hours per week

We're looking for a Front Desk and Office Coordinator to join our Chelmsford Campus Team
-someone who is enthusiastic and motivated to ensure a friendly, welcoming and informative central enquiry point for all our visitors. They are committed on delivering excellent customer service standards whilst working in a democratic environment.

What you'll be doing
  • Be a first point of contact for queries whilst creating a warm welcome for visitors and demonstrating a well-rounded knowledge of the Union and its services.
  • Administration tasks for front desk services and supporting the Chelmsford Campus Team including, but not limited to: room and appointment bookings, risk assessments, processing finance requests, office stock management and purchases, till operations and signposting to other relevant departments.
  • Liaise with university departments including cleaning, postage and maintenance teams ensuring services are maintained at all times.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the student space, office and kitchen areas.
  • Actively participate in delivering key campus events including Elections and Welcome Week, and assist with the organisation of staff events including meetings and away days.
  • Promote an inclusive, supportive environment and encourage student creativity and innovation.
Who we're looking for
  • Someone with excellent customer service experience and strong communication skills which allows you to engage with our student members; including answering queries in person and via email from student societies, academic representatives and students in need of advice.
  • You are organised, approachable and patient with the ability to display discretion, empathy, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Have great time management and prioritising skills which allows you to support planning and delivery of events.
  • You are customer focused and flexible, allowing you to work with a range of people.
  • Have great understanding and knowledge of current issues affecting students, students’ Unions and the Higher Education sector.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office.
