Join Our School Team

We are seeking a highly organised, professional and enthusiastic Admin Assistant to play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our school. This varied and rewarding role combines front-of-house reception duties, pupil welfare support, admissions administration and the management of pupil data.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for parents, pupils, staff and visitors, providing a welcoming and efficient service while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage pupil admissions enquiries, applications and transitions for new starters and leavers.
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and data within the school's Management Information System (MIS).
  • Support the completion of statutory returns, including the termly Pupil Census.
  • Act as a first point of contact for telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries.
  • Provide reception and visitor management services, ensuring school security procedures are followed.
  • Support pupil welfare, including administering first aid and liaising with parents regarding illness or injury.
  • Assist with school trips, events, assemblies, productions and extracurricular activities.
  • Manage school meal administration, free school meal eligibility checks and holiday voucher schemes.
  • Support wraparound care administration, bookings and debt management.
  • Produce reports, correspondence and administrative documentation as required.
Essential Criteria

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of administrative work within a busy office environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
  • First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
Knowledge & Skills
  • Good understanding of administrative systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of general school policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, including GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Competent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications, databases and office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate records and correspondence.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external agencies.
