Teacher Active is currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated Playworkers to join our team in Chelmsford. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy supporting children’s development, encouraging imaginative play, and bringing energy and creativity to their work each day.

Role Overview – Day-to-Day Duties

As a Playworker, you will supervise and engage children in a range of stimulating indoor and outdoor play activities, helping to nurture confidence, creativity, and positive social skills. You will support children of varying ages and abilities, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include setting up and packing away play spaces, promoting safe play, maintaining cleanliness and organisation, and following safeguarding procedures with professionalism.

Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff is an essential part of the role.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals with experience working with children in settings such as nurseries, schools, youth groups, or after-school clubs. You should be reliable, enthusiastic, and confident in leading or supporting play-based activities. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required, or you must be willing to obtain one. Strong communication and teamwork skills are important, and qualifications in Playwork, Childcare, or Youth Work are desirable but not essential.
