Join Essex County Council's School Crossing Patrol team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer at Hawkwell – Westerings Primary School. Support schools in the morning and afternoon, ensuring the safety of all pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and surrounding locations. STOP! Come and support your local community.

As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC), a DBS check may be required. You must register with the DBS update service and ensure it is kept up to date.

• Provide support at the school once per morning (45 minutes between 08:00–09:00) and once per afternoon (45 minutes between 14:45–15:45) during the academic year.
• Ensure the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from school and surrounding areas.
• Maintain punctuality, reliability, and approachability while engaging with the public.
• Work approximately 7.5 hours per week, with a holiday pay element included, across 39 weeks of the academic year.
• Use provided uniform, equipment, and training.
