Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Our welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Chelmsford is looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their supportive team.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SLD, SEMH and communication needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging and safe learning environment.
  • Use creativity, patience and empathy to help pupils develop both academically and socially.
  • Support pupils with personal care (if required) and regulation strategies.
  • Adapt activities and learning materials to suit individual needs.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or community settings).
  • A positive, resilient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and encourage pupil independence.
  • Any relevant training (e.g. Makaton, Team Teach, Autism awareness) is an advantage, but not essential.
