Academics Chelmsford are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Chelmsford. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access education in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment.

The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD
Assist with personal care needs and mobility, always ensuring dignity and respect
Support pupils in developing communication, independence, and life skills
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored learning opportunities
Create a positive, nurturing environment where all students can thrive

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous experience in SEN education or a care setting
Be patient, empathetic, and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
Have strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Be flexible and proactive in adapting to students' individual needs
Hold a current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply through Academics)
