Academics are supporting several high-achieving secondary schools across Essex who are looking to appoint a committed English Teacher for roles in Chelmsford from April 2026, or earlier where available.

As an English Teacher in Chelmsford, you will design and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3-KS4, meeting the needs of varied learners while playing a key role in school life. Schools in Chelmsford foster teamwork, innovation, and continuous professional development.

Role Overview

Confident English Teacher teaching KS3-KS4. Excellent subject knowledge across English Language and Literature. Full-time, Monday to Friday. Contract may continue through to the Summer term. Experience supporting challenging behaviour welcomed but not essential.

Person Specification

Clear and structured teaching approach. Passion for raising attainment in English. Experience teaching in a secondary setting at KS3-KS4. UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or 4+ years' overseas secondary experience. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain). Adaptable, motivated, and committed to education. Determined to positively influence young people's futures. A strong role model who builds confidence and resilience.
