Intermediate Mechanical Estimator

Overview

Intermediate Mechanical Estimator – Colchester – £45,000 + package (DOE).

Working alongside senior estimators, you will assist in the preparation of tenders for a range of commercial and industrial mechanical projects, with values up to £3.5 million. You'll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and clear progression opportunities as you grow into a fully-fledged estimator.

• Assisting with the preparation of mechanical cost estimates and tenders.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Helping to obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Producing take-offs and pricing schedules.
• Supporting value engineering and cost planning exercises.
• Assisting with project handovers following successful bids.

• Background in mechanical building services (site, office, engineering, or commercial).
• Some exposure to estimating, commercial, or pre-construction work is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Keen to learn, develop, and progress within estimating.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and commercially minded.
