Senior Traffic​/Highways Engineer

Our client, an organisation within a London borough, is currently seeking a Senior Traffic/Highways Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The successful individual will contribute to the development of control work, parking design, and traffic scheme design across a variety of projects.

• Working within the Development Control team on various projects
• Designing and implementing traffic schemes
• Engaging in parking design projects as required
• Providing engineering expertise on mixed‑use traffic and highway projects
• Ensuring all designs and plans meet current regulations and standards
• Conducting site assessments and presenting findings to stakeholders
• Collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to ensure smooth project delivery
• Maintaining detailed project documentation and reports

• Extensive experience in civil engineering, specifically within the traffic and highway sector
• Strong skills in traffic scheme and parking design
• Solid understanding of current traffic and highways regulations
• Proficiency with engineering design software
• Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders
• Relevant qualification in civil engineering or a related field
