High-Voltage Electronics Engineer

The client is a global pioneer in highly reliable, complex RF power electronics. The role involves designing and manufacturing specialized power components for demanding environments. You will lead the product lifecycle of high-reliability, high-voltage (5kV‑60kV) systems, bridging R&D and manufacturing, and ensuring compliance and manufacturability.

The Role

As a Technical Lead within the RF Power Project Engineering group, you will champion the development of high‑voltage systems from concept to volume production.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing subsystems and circuits to meet cost and compliance targets.
  • Steering products through New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Ensuring Design for Manufacture (DFM) standards are met.
  • Providing technical authority for production support, including component‑level fault analysis and performance issue resolution.
  • Monitoring market technologies for upgrade opportunities.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in product development and power electronic system design.
  • Experience working with HV power systems.
  • Ability to gain Full UK Security Clearance (SC).
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent high‑level practical experience.
  • Core Technical

    Skills:
    • Switch‑Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design.
    • High‑frequency digital and analogue circuit design (ideally within MILSPEC applications).
    • PCB design, layout tools, and schematic capture.
    • Electrical safety, safe working practices, risk assessments, and mitigation activities.
Desirable Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and RF test techniques and DFMEA/FMEA.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/SAP systems.
  • Previous experience identifying IPR/patent opportunities and supporting claim generation.
