About the Role
As an Asbestos Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in the accurate analysis and reporting of asbestos-containing materials. Working within a professional laboratory environment, you will ensure all samples are processed efficiently, safely, and in line with current industry regulations and best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct analysis of asbestos bulk samples in accordance with UKAS and HSE guidance.

* Accurately record and report analytical findings within required time frames.

* Maintain strict compliance with asbestos Health & Safety procedures and laboratory quality standards.

* Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used correctly.

* Communicate results clearly with internal teams and clients where required.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.

Qualifications

* P401 certification (e.g., RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Bulk Analysis) or equivalent RSPH qualification is essential.

Experience

* Proven experience working in an asbestos laboratory environment.

* Strong understanding of asbestos legislation, regulations, and safe working practices.

Skills & Attributes

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience using Microsoft Teams is advantageous.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

* A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

* Well-organised with the ability to manage workload effectively.
