Fitter, General Labor

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Fitter to join our events team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in repairing and installing lighting tower and associated equipment, as well as a valid driving licence and a flexible attitude toward working hours.

• Assemble and dismantle event lighting setups and on-site repairs.
• Ensure all equipment is fitted securely and safely according to event plans and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-event checks on lights, vehicles, and materials.
• Drive company vehicles (vans/lorries) to event locations locally or regionally.
• Work closely with the event production team to ensure installations meet quality and design standards.
• Warehouse duties, including maintaining tools and equipment.
• Follow health & safety procedures at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service when liaising with clients on-site.

• A competitive annual salary ranging from £31,000 to £41,000 plus quarterly performance based bonuses. The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. It gives you an indication of what you could realistically expect to earn during your tenure in the position. It also takes into account any potential annual salary raises/reviews. Actual salary offered will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills/experience, relevant qualifications and performance.
• 33 leave days of annual leave per year including official bank holidays.

• Previous experience as a Fitter, with experience within the event industry, exhibitions, and construction industry.
• Full, clean driving licence (category dependent on vehicle type, e.g., Category B, C1 or CE).
• Ability to read and understand event setup plans or technical drawings (desirable).
• Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy items.
• Flexible with working hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and travel as required.
• Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach on-site.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Computer skills in systems and excel.
• Preferred:
  Forklift, telehandler, or other plant licences (advantageous but not essential).
